Have you ever heard of a Lokai bracelet? If not thats fine! I discovered these bracelets a couple months ago and really loved the idea behind them! Heres the meaning behind a Lokai Bracelet, from Lokai themselves.
"Each lokai is infused with elements from the highest and lowest points on Earth. The bracelet’s white bead carries water from Mt. Everest, and its black bead contains mud from the Dead Sea. These extreme elements are a reminder to the wearer to live a balanced life – staying humble during life’s peaks and hopeful during its lows."
For every bracelet they sell they donate money to charitable partners. They recently which ended on the 28th had one specifically for wild life, the bracelet was designed as camo themed bracelet. A friend purchased mine for me. I purchased the classic. I spoke to a rep from Lokai and she told me there is a lot of stuff for fans to look forward to!
Now lets get to the point of this post! I was browsing amazon and found cheap Lokai Bracelets, of course people who can't afford the actual Lokai (its 18$ btw), or people who don't want to spend the 18 dollars will be drawn into such a price deal! Well I decided to take it upon myself to purchase one of these 5 dollar ones for fun, just to show you guys thats its fake. I do not have a tag comparison cause i threw my tags away!
Let begin with packaging, the Lokai bracelets come in a package with their logo on it, the package I received today was from China (probably has lead in it haha -_- wise words from my mother) anyways! Lokai also sends you a card explaining the bracelet, and a sticker of their logo (which one is now on my dresser) the package from China didn't even come with a receipt of my purchase! Moving on.
I took photos of the classic bracelets together to show you the differences. Some people would have cut them open to also show that their fake, ill wait till it breaks to cut the black and white beads open! if or when that happens ill make a small post pertaining it ha.
This is a close up of the fake one, these brackets (as well as the real Lokai) are made with a type of rubber or silicone. The actual Lokai bracelets do not have such poorly made beads. Second this bracelet feels significantly weaker compared to my real Lokai. My real Lokais white and black beads are also a lot squishier because they have a hollow center because the white and black beads contain the elements from earth. The fake one on the other hand the beads don't feel hollow at all! In the next 2 photos I made a comparison to the black and white beads themselves. I labeled the fake and real sides so you know!
As you can see in the first photo the beads are much shinier! Lokai has a duller appearance. The circle is relatively larger in the center of the bead on the fake one. The beads themselves are a different look to them they kinda don't look as strong as the real Lokai, which over time the Lokai bracelet will take wear and tear to it and break,
The third photo is a logo comparison... It could be my trained eye as a photographer to see the differences but thats why I made a close up of the logos. As you can see once again the fake Lokai has a lot more shine to it... the logo looks a little on the larger side, it also has a larger circle in bottom part of the logo... (had to bump up the exposure to show the logos better)
There are also other imitation bracelets called Life bracelets which you can find and purchase at stores like 5 below, they have the same element concept per bead, but I don't know anything about if they donate to charities. They come in different colors and of course have a different logo. Ill stick with Lokai <3
Basically in the end if you find anything on a separate site selling a lokai the chances are it is NOT real and its worth just to spend the 18 dollars since part of the money goes to charity.

ReplyDeleteDoes the fake ones also have the same elements and meaning toward them
ReplyDeleteNo the fake ones do not have the elements inside them they are just solid, tho the meaning behind it in ur minds can still exist without the elements it probably isn't as meaningful
DeleteHow are the tags different?
ReplyDeleteHow are the tags different?
ReplyDeleteThe fake is blue and the real is dark dark grey also the s and m are lowercase on the real and on the fake they are upper case the size L is the only one upper case on the real lokai
ReplyDeletemy items were taken off ebay for being unauthentic. By all accounts it appears my bracelets are authentic. They have the gray around the tag and lower case m. I cut it open and the beads are not solid but have what appears to be elements. Of course the white bead looked like the same as black bead or dirty if water had evaporated maybe. There are circles around the trademark and not triangles and it has @livelokai instead of mylokai on it. I would love to send a picture to let you see it. I need some help on what to look for!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI see everything you have listed but still unsure about mine
DeleteMine were taken off as well...my question is, why would counterfeiters spend the money and extra time to put mud in a bracelet you can't even see inside of? I think if they are not they are some very good copies because I can't see any difference.
DeleteWhat about XL size? Isn't that upper case letters?

ReplyDeletei don't know if my "lokia" is real or not
ReplyDeletemy logo appears to be right but compared to the picture my beads aren't as shiny and my circles look big is it real or not
ReplyDeleteMe too! I wanted to know because my friend bought like 4

DeleteThe same thing happened to me. Lokai is selling their product on eBay and I think they are trying to kick off the competition by saying others are fakes since eBay backs them they are set
ReplyDeleteAlso happened to me, sounds like you are probably right.
DeleteI don't know if mine was real or fake but I wore them for a while now and I woke up with my arm hurting we're they sat and I noticed my arm had a red dots imprinted on my arm and feels like a burn. And now that it's been 3 days it's still red and the skin is raised.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the circle is big on the back of the black bead, but has the real logo and squishy and stretchy beads, please reply because my friend bought around 4 for like $20 canadian. I don't want her to think she got scammed... :(
