Live Lokai.... and watch out for the Fakes!

Have you ever heard of a Lokai bracelet? If not thats fine! I discovered these bracelets a couple months ago and really loved the idea behind them! Heres the meaning behind a Lokai Bracelet, from Lokai themselves.

"Each lokai is infused with elements from the highest and lowest points on Earth. The bracelet’s white bead carries water from Mt. Everest, and its black bead contains mud from the Dead Sea. These extreme elements are a reminder to the wearer to live a balanced life – staying humble during life’s peaks and hopeful during its lows."

For every bracelet they sell they donate money to charitable partners. They recently which ended on the 28th had one specifically for wild life, the bracelet was designed as camo themed bracelet. A friend purchased mine for me. I purchased the classic. I spoke to a rep from Lokai and she told me there is a lot of stuff for fans to look forward to!

Now lets get to the point of this post! I was browsing amazon and found cheap Lokai Bracelets, of course people who can't afford the actual Lokai (its 18$ btw), or people who don't want to spend the 18 dollars will be drawn into such a price deal! Well I decided to take it upon myself to purchase one of these 5 dollar ones for fun, just to show you guys thats its fake. I do not have a tag comparison cause i threw my tags away!

Let begin with packaging, the Lokai bracelets come in a package with their logo on it, the package I received today was from China (probably has lead in it haha -_- wise words from my mother) anyways! Lokai also sends you a card explaining the bracelet, and a sticker of their logo (which one is now on my dresser) the package from China didn't even come with a receipt of my purchase! Moving on.

I took photos of the classic bracelets together to show you the differences. Some people would have cut them open to also show that their fake, ill wait till it breaks to cut the black and white beads open! if or when that happens ill make a small post pertaining it ha.

This is a close up of the fake one, these brackets (as well as the real Lokai) are made with a type of rubber or silicone. The actual Lokai bracelets do not have such poorly made beads. Second this bracelet feels significantly weaker compared to my real Lokai. My real Lokais white and black beads are also a lot squishier because they have a hollow center because the white and black beads contain the elements from earth. The fake one on the other hand the beads don't feel hollow at all! In the next 2 photos I made a comparison to the black and white beads themselves. I labeled the fake and real sides so you know!
As you can see in the first photo the beads are much shinier! Lokai has a duller appearance. The circle is relatively larger in the center of the bead on the fake one. The beads themselves are a different look to them they kinda don't look as strong as the real Lokai, which over time the Lokai bracelet will take wear and tear to it and break,
The third photo is a logo comparison... It could be my trained eye as a photographer to see the differences but thats why I made a close up of the logos. As you can see once again the fake Lokai has a lot more shine to it... the logo looks a little on the larger side, it also has a larger circle in bottom part of the logo... (had to bump up the exposure to show the logos better)

There are also other imitation bracelets called Life bracelets which you can find and purchase at stores like 5 below, they have the same element concept per bead, but I don't know anything about if they donate to charities. They come in different colors and of course have a different logo. Ill stick with Lokai <3

Basically in the end if you find anything on a separate site selling a lokai the chances are it is NOT real and its worth just to spend the 18 dollars since part of the money goes to charity.

今日は

Hello!
I want to start off with I'm a complete weeaboo, at least thats what 90% of my friends call me! for those of you who stumble upon this blog and don't know what that is, its basically someone who's obsessed with anime, and the Japanese culture. Some or well urban dictionary claims the person will also attempt to act as though they aren't Japanese. I am not a weeaboo to this extent.. I mean I can eat with chopsticks so that makes someone a Weeaboo? nahh.

Anyways I chose the name Nerdy Kitsune because one, I'm a dang nerd and a half... I own more video games then I know where to put them along with manga and anime DVDs, The only game system I don't own is the Xbox one... cause i personally just don't want it at this current time.. my PS4 has everything I need. Kitsune because Kitsune is the Japanese Word for Fox... (brings us back to this Weeaboo thing right?) anyways I personally love foxes. They are beautiful and adorable animals! Their tricky, and sly (no the song did not encourage my liking tword foxes....)

Anyways this blog is just going to be a fun little blog something for me to do on my free time, Whether i post about make up, accessories, video games, movies, animes, whatever I chose to post and if you guys chose to read it thats fine with me! if not thats also fine!

Bye bye =D
